Who We Are

Welcome! History in 60 is a non-profit history site with the intent to educate and motivate all to learn the fascinating history of our planet with a little satire every so often.

Materials

I (hope to) offer countless resources detailing the history of our species from the Bronze age to the Covid 19 pandemic. If you are interested in other materials or expanded content, please leave a suggestion. Almost all material on this site is public domain, so feel free to copy and reproduce material as needed, provided appropriate credit is given.

Timelines

The material shown on my timeline not intended to provide every detail of a historical event, but rather provide a brief and easily comprehensible chronology of events. More than anything though, the purpose of this site is to make history fun and interesting, so please, don't take any opinions given too seriously.

I take pride in accuracy and if you spot any errors, please contact me.

Blog

I want all who use this site to leave with a deeper and more complex understanding of our planet and our place in the world. And while names and dates find a role in that, blog articles allow for in depth explanations of context and detail. If any of my highly specialized blog articles peak your interest, I recommend checking out either the World History Encyclopedia or Wikipedia for further reading.

Maps

This website features various maps, both throughout the timeline (links) and in the maps section, which provide a broader foundation for the geography and geopolitics of everywhere from the ancient world to today. If you are interested in a more in-depth catalogue of maps, I recommend checking out World History Encyclopedia or some of West Point's Atlases.
